Mistletoe Mishap by Siri Caldwell

A ‘novella’ about an established couple rekindling their sex life over Christmas. That concept, combined with the nonsensical title, didn’t bode well, but actually it’s totally fun and readable.

The couple have a competition to see who can make the other one come the most over the 12 days of Christmas, with some convoluted extra rules in the mix. In some writers’ hands this would have been nothing but a series of graphic and dull sex scenes, but that’s not what we get here. Instead, we get some sense of the relationship, and the women’s personalities, and some relatively tame sex scenes.

It’s nice reading about a couple who know each other well and have been together for ages and makes a nice change from the will they, won’t they (of course they will) romance that ends with the happy ever after. And nice to read about sex and romance after they’ve waltzed off into the sunset. Unlikely to make it on to your favourites list, but a nice, enjoyable read none-the-less.
