Plot: our heroine has just moved across the country to open a ‘scent’ store on the outskirts of Chicago. ‘Scent’ is not a euphemism. She’s in with the softball lesbians, and flirts with a gorgeous chick in Starbucks. Complications ensue with the business and the circle of friends vs. the gorgeous chick. But what matters most? I’ll let you guess.
Very easy read, but also v. light on proper character development and I struggled to care about them very much. Georgia Beers can write, though, there aren’t any gaping plot holes or anything, and the dialogue works. Also, quite a few little self help tips about anger management and getting over things and thinking things through. Grown ups may apply here.
Worth a read, probably not a re-read.
